The company will exhibit SBB 1.7 and SBB 2.0, equipped with U.S.-manufactured batteries
SAMSUNG SDI plans to accelerate U.S. market expansion with high-performance, high-efficiency next-generation ESS batteries
SAMSUNG SDI announced today that it will participate in Renewable Energy Plus (RE+) 2025, which will be held from September 9 to 11 at The Venetian Expo & Caesars Forum in Las Vegas, U.S. During the three-day event, the company plans to showcase its next-generation energy storage system (ESS) batteries, accelerating its efforts to expand into the North American market.
At this year’s exhibition, SAMSUNG SDI will showcase a wide range of next-generation ESS products and technologies under the slogan “All-American, Proven & Ready,” underscoring its commitment to the U.S. market. The company plans to highlight new ESS products and innovative technologies based on U.S.-manufactured cells, strategically addressing the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and tariff policies.
SAMSUNG SDI will unveil its latest ESS solutions, the new SAMSUNG Battery Box (SBB) models SBB1.7 and SBB 2.0. SBB is an all-in-one solution that houses battery cells, modules, and racks inside a 20-foot container, allowing immediate connection to the power grid. Recognized for its ease of use, high performance, and safety, the SBB was honored with the CES Innovation Award earlier this year.
The SBB 1.7 delivers about 17% higher energy density than the previous SBB 1.5, enabling greater efficiency and performance. The SBB 2.0, powered by lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, offers industry-leading longevity through proprietary design innovations and advanced lifespan prediction algorithms. Both models integrate Enhanced Direct Injection (EDI) technology, delivering enhanced safety and reliability.
In addition, SAMSUNG SDI plans to showcase a full lineup of its innovative ESS products and technologies, including its new uninterruptible power supply (UPS) solution and thermal propagation prevention safety technology, which were awarded with the Smarter E Europe 2025 Innovation Award at Europe’s largest energy exhibition held in Munich last May.
“We will unveil locally tailored ESS battery products and innovative technologies aimed at the rapidly growing U.S. market.” said a SAMSUNG SDI official. “With high-performance and high-efficiency ESS batteries, we aim to accelerate our expansion in the U.S. market”
RE+ is the largest exhibition in the energy industry in North America, offering a comprehensive overview of the latest technologies, policies, and business trends. This year, more than 1,300 global companies are expected to take part in the event.
