We aim to fully shift to renewable energy for power consumption in our operations home and abroad by 2025 and this will allow us to reduce our GHG emissions.
To enhance the environmental performance of its products, Samsung SDI has obtained Carbon Footprint certification from Carbon Trust for its battery products. As of 2025, we hold certifications for a total of four products.
* We leverage Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) to develop measures to improve our environmental impact. LCAs are performed to identify environmental loads such as GHG emissions generated throughout the entire product lifecycle from the extraction of raw materials to product use and disposal and to analyze their substantial impact.
SAMSUNG SDI is actively rolling out measures to reduce LNG usage in order to cut down on Scope 1 direct GHG emissions.
We introduced electric commuter buses that do not generate environmental load during operation at our worksites and have since equipped our domestic locations with EV chargers in their parking lots so that employees and customers can use their eco-friendly vehicles at their convenience.
To reduce the energy consumed at our worksites, we provide our domestic worksites which consume a large amount of energy with technical support for energy conservation. For overseas worksites, we offer locally-hired staff technical skill-up training for the purpose of energy saving.
