The present and future of batteries that Samsung SDI dreams of 

‘InterBattery 2022’ Participate with the biggest booth

□ 1st Showcase of PRiMX, the first battery brand in Korea 

□ Reveals the roadmap for the future battery technology such as solid-state batteries like Gen.5 and Gen.6

Samsung SDI will reveal the battery technology that will change the future.

Samsung SDI will participate in the exhibition, ‘InterBattery 2022’ which will be held for three days from March 17th to 19th. Under this year’s theme of ‘Our Bright Future with PRiMX’, Samsung SDI will showcase its battery technology which stands at the center of future technology development and independent brand PRiMX. 

PRiMX is the battery brand that Samsung SDI released at the end of last year for the first time in the industry. PRiMX conveys Samsung SDI’s unique identity of ‘Prime Battery for Maximum Experience.’ It has three key words, namely the most stable quality, super-gap high energy technology, fast charging and super-long life technology that were introduced for the first time in Korea. 

Samsung SDI, which produces various forms of batteries such as prismatic, cylindrical, pouch, and button, will fill up the booth with different products with district characteristics, for example, batteries used for IT, power, ESS, e-mobility, and AI Robots, with having batteries for electric vehicles as a main battery line. 

Also, those batteries are installed into electric vehicles, ESS, power tools, IT, devices, AI service robots, and other major applications. The items equipped with Samsung SDI’s batteries will be exhibited at the booth and will enhance viewers’ understating about how batteries are used in our daily lives. 

Especially, Samsung SDI will provide its distinctive technology as a leading company in a battery industry by introducing Gen.5 battery that is installed into new BMW vehicles, the roadmap of next generation Gen.6, solid-state batteries, and Co-Free technology. 

Samsung SDI will prepare the presentation lounge at the center of the booth in order to enhance the viewers’ understating. Through the explanation from the professional presenter, the viewers can enjoy various video contents as well as look into Samsung SDI’s goal for the advanced future via PRiMX, technology, and message for the ESG management.

On the other hand, on Thursday, March 17, Naehyuck Chang, Executive Vice President and Head of Automotive & ESS Business Development Office at Samsung SDI, will participate ‘The Battery Conference 2022.’ At the conference, he will introduce Samsung SDI’s differentiated battery manufacturing technology for ESS under the theme of ‘the strategy for the safe ESS.’ 

Michael Son, Executive Vice President and Head of Strategic Marketing Team, Automotive & ESS Business at Samsung SDI, stated that, “Samsung SDI has been constantly put the utmost effort to create the better future based on differentiated battery technology, and this exhibition can be the chance to look into Samsung SDI’s vision for the sustainable future.”

Organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy, ‘InterBattery 2022’, first launched in 2013 in Seoul, Korea, is the biggest battery exhibition in Korea, and it has been 10 years already. Currently, it attracts more than three-hundred battery, material, components and equipment companies including Samsung SDI.
