Matching Grant system is to activate officer’s volunteer service or donation culture, by let company join the donation with the same amount whenever officers donate support fund.
In our Samsung SDI, we have introduced and practiced matching grant system since August ’00 with the name of [Love Light Fund], and as of December ’03, 6700 officers have joined, 87.4% of joining ratio has maintained, which make solid officers' volunteered participation and the ground of regular volunteer activity.
Through indirect participation of our staffs, the system will inspire the contributing awareness, self-admiration, and the love for the company. It will also create autonomous, active, and effective social service by running a committee in the each place of business. This system is very well fitted corresponding to the service of enterprises that the society wants from the enterprises, and it's possible to operate a strategic activity of volunteering service. If staffs decide how much money they are going to donate, the company gets to add same amount of money unto their donation. And these funds will support all the kinds of other service activities.
The donation all you executives and staffs raised are donated total 7 institutes and groups in all. It is preciously used for the visually disabled, nursery school for children, badminton team of the disabled, the aged single and homeless, other disable persons and so forth.
The matching money of company is distributed by the same amount of fund all executives and staffs raised to each plant and used for volunteer service activities and financial support to volunteer connected groups.
