| Sang Jin Park was promoted to the president of Samsung SDI Co.,Ltd from CEO of Samsung Digital Imaging Division, Samsung Electronics Co.,Ltd. Prior to joining Samsung Digital Imaging, Mr. Park was CEO of Samsung Asia Pte Ltd, the regional headquarters for all Samsung Electronics’ business in Southeast Asia and Oceania consisting of 10 entities. Under his stewardship, Samsung Asia achieved double digit growth in sales revenue in 2007, citing around 56 percent increase in sales since his appointment in February 2004. Mr. Park’s key priority is to continue to build on this success for Samsung to ascend as the leading digital technology brand in this region.
Mr. Park served as the Executive Vice-President and General Manager of the Mobile Communication Division in Headquarters responsible for the global sales and operations for the mobile phone business. Samsung’s global market share leaped from five percent in 2000 to over 11 percent in 2003 under his leadership. Mr. Park possesses extensive overseas management experience from his 30 years in Samsung including the United States, Europe and Korea. He has held key positions as President of Samsung Electronics in France and Samsung Electronics in Spain. In 1999, he was also the first to head the Global Marketing Operations group to drive and establish Samsung as a global brand name. Mr. Park holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and trade from Seoul National University. |
