Since 1984, it had a goal to 'build 10 million color Braun tubes' and SDI concentrated all its efforts on building 10 million color Braun tubes, the great dream of 10% world demand.
As a result, in 1988, it completed to build 10 million color Braun tubes at last and it was the milestone for Samsung SDI to jump into a global company.
With promotion of Braun tube business, Samsung SDI paid attention to flat display in the middle of the 1980's and started to study new displays such as LCD, VFD, etc. Business diversification of Samsung SDI had already begun in the middle of the 1980's.
