In the wide variety of business areas, we have performed excellently. For example we had the development of world’s first 70 inch PDP, world’s best screen quality 37inch PDP development, world’s largest capacity lithium-ion battery development, world’s first full color Organic EL development, world’s first moving picture realization UFBLCD development, world’s first UFS-LCD development, world’s no. 1 LCD for mobile phone, etc.
In addition overseas plants were established to insure global competitiveness. Plants in Shanghai, Donggan, Hungary were also run. We are currently under research and development in a global perspective constructing strategic R&D network like Institute for Europe in Germany, Yokohama Institute in Japan, Institute for Russia, Institute for China and so forth.
Efforts for the reorganization of business structure including PDP integrated management, the establishment of SB LiMotive and the foundation of SMD have been continued.
