Phosphors Info

Phosphors are the key elements visualizing electrical signals in a VFD. When electrons released from the Filament are accelerated through Grids, and land on the phosphor surface, phosphors then can emit light of its own wavelength. Wavelength of the light emitting according to the types of the phosphor varies in the area of visible light, and represent diverse colors ranging from red through blue.

CIE Chromaticity Diagram

VFD applies xy color coordinates as its standard, and every SPEC is issued based on the xy coordinates. (convertible to uv color coordinates, if needed) The following is the coordinates of phosphors ?currently in massive production- noted noted ont eh CIE chromaticity diagram.

Spectral Distribution

Emission spectrum of each color phosphor has the following pattern. Wavelengths as below imply that changing colors by using a Cooler Filter is possible. For instance, Green phosphors which is used as the main color in VFD the most, can have whitish color sensitivity by utilizing pink type of filters.
