- What is LCD (Liquid Crystal Display)?
- LCD is a display applying the electrical properties of LC (Liquid Crystal) in neutral state of liquid and solid to display devices: LC functioning as a shutter transmitting or shielding light according to its On/Off condition is used to display information.
- Mechanism of light emission
- Each light passing through LC has different polarizing state caused by its birefringence phenomenon and light through the polarizing plate has colors whose certain wavelength stands out.

- Underlying Principle of Samsung LCD
- LC is injected between two glass substrates forming transparent electrodes on the surface, electric field is supplied from the outside so that light can/cannot pass through; so called a shutter function.
