Samsung SDI invested ￦ 300 million in remodeling a bus for the Mobile Eye Clinic with medical equipment including an X-ray machine, a medial office, an operating room and an optometry room. Mobile Eye Clinic visits and provides medical services, around 56 times a year, to the residents of rural communities and remote islands including Isle Sorok, Cheju Islands, and other islands of Kyungnam and Chunnam. Mobile Eye Clinic has provided medical treatment to at least 24,000 blind people with 120 visits, and eye surgeries to more than 2,500.

This year alone the Mobile Eye Clinic provided 32 times of medical services to rural villages including islands of Kyungnam and Chunnam, and 7 schools for the blinds. Also, since October, 1996, the Clinic is providing medical treatment, twice a year, to .the residents who live near the Samsung SDI plants in Suwon, Chonan and Busan.
